Our Take on the 2026 SAE Pro-Am

Event Date: August 20, 2026
Location: St. Andrew’s East Golf and Country Club.

There’s something special about a day where great weather, great company, and a great cause all come together. That’s exactly what happened at this year’s SAE Pro-Am Invitational at St. Andrew’s East, held in support of Prostate Cancer Canada Research.

O’Hara Technologies was proud to be part of the action, and what a day it was. Between the friendly competition, the sense of community, and the incredible generosity on display, this event reminded us once again why we love being part of the Richmond Hill business community.

The Numbers Tell the Story

FoThanks to the generosity of sponsors, donors, members, and participants, the event raised over $120,000 for prostate cancer research. That’s a remarkable achievement, and it’s a testament to what a community can accomplish when everyone shows up ready to give back.

A special thank you goes out to the Champion Sponsor, AWIN Group of Dealerships, whose support helped anchor the event and make this kind of impact possible.

Golfers know that a great course can make or break the day, and this one delivered. From the tee decks to the fairways, everything was in pristine shape, with greens rolling just under 12 on the Stimpmeter. Credit goes to Dan Brousseau and his team for putting in the work to get the course into such incredible condition for the tournament.

Honouring a Driving Force Behind the Event

No recap of this Pro-Am would be complete without recognizing Mr. Terry Collier. His vision, hard work, and dedication have shaped this event into what it is today, and the growth we’ve seen over the years simply wouldn’t have happened without his countless hours of commitment and passion for the cause.

In recognition of everything Terry has contributed, the Pro Am Committee made a unanimous decision: the Pro Am Championship Trophy will now be known as the Terry Collier Cup. It’s a fitting tribute to someone who has given so much to this event and to the fight against prostate cancer.

Grateful for the Community

Days like this don’t happen without a lot of people pulling in the same direction. Sponsors, players, volunteers, and everyone behind the scenes all played a part in making this a success, and we’re grateful to have been a small part of it.

Here’s to another year of golf for a good cause, and to the community that keeps showing up to support it.
