Event Date: Nov 12, 2025
Location: Richmond Hill, Toronto

O’Hara Technologies Inc. took a sitewide initiative for World Diabetes Day 2025 with the name “Walk for Wellness.” It was a company-wide campaign inspired by this year’s global theme: “Know More. Do More. For Diabetes at Work.” As a long-standing player in the pharmaceutical manufacturing space, we believe workplace well-being is inseparable from the work we do and from the communities we serve. This campaign brought together employees across departments, shifts, and roles for a unified purpose: to build awareness, encourage movement, and spark meaningful conversations about diabetes and preventive health.

On November 12, our entire company came together for a coordinated campus walk, symbolizing the collective power of small, intentional steps. The event was open to all employees, including manufacturing technicians, engineers, administrative teams, sales, quality, R&D, and leadership, reflecting our commitment to inclusivity and health for all. Participants gathered at our Innovation Centre, where the event began with a group photo to mark O’Hara’s shared commitment, wellness pledge boards where colleagues wrote personal goals and supportive messages, photo sessions to boost engagement and advocacy on social platforms, and an optional Diabetes Risk Assessment using IDF’s official pre-assessment tool, promoting early detection and self-awareness.

Employees were encouraged to wear blue, the global color for diabetes awareness, fostering unity and visual identity throughout the facility. As a global leader in pharma coating technology serving pharmaceutical and nutraceutical manufacturers, O’Hara’s work ultimately contributes to improving patient outcomes. Walk for Wellness aligns with O’Hara’s core values: innovation, responsibility, and care.

By supporting diabetes awareness, we support the very communities O’Hara’s equipment helps to serve, and we recognize that a healthier team is a more empowered team, one capable of making meaningful contributions to patient safety, pharmaceutical excellence, and workplace culture. We are proud that this initiative was recognized and featured by the International Diabetes Federation, further reinforcing the impact and importance of our collective efforts.
